Introducing the Director Confidence Index
Diligent Institute is partnering with Corporate Board Member on a new national pulse survey: the Director Confidence Index (DCI), a quarterly poll tracking director sentiment on the economy and other topical matters. Click below to read the full results.
The Q3 survey was conducted from September 29th-October 1st and garnered responses from 121 U.S. public company directors. In addition to questions about the economy, we asked respondents about the upcoming U.S. presidential election. The survey ran before the president’s COVID-19 diagnosis.
At the end of each quarter, the DCI runs for about 72 hours and takes between 2-3 minutes to complete. The first three questions are about the economy and remain static, so that they may reveal trends in director sentiment over time. However, the remaining questions change each quarter depending on which issues are salient when the survey is distributed.
The next DCI survey will run at the end of Q4 2020, and will feature a new set of topical questions in addition to static questions about the economy.
