December 2020 Director Confidence Index: COVID-19 Vaccine Roll Out Boosts Recovery Optimism for U.S. Boards
Diligent Institute, in partnership with Corporate Board Member, has released the most recent Director Confidence Index (DCI), a US national pulse survey tracking director sentiment on the economy and other topical matters. Click below to read the full results.
The Q4 survey was conducted from December 8th through December 13th, 2020 and garnered responses from 138 U.S. public company directors. In addition to questions about the economy, we asked respondents whether they believed COVID-19 vaccination should be required for employees prior to returning to offices and work sites. We also asked their feelings about diversity mandates such as the one recently proposed by NASDAQ.
For the last half of 2020, the DCI survey has been conducted quarterly, but will move to a monthly survey beginning in the new year. The next DCI survey will run at the end of January 2021, and will feature a new set of topical questions in addition to our regular questions about the economy.
